The Castlefield Y Club offers a wide range of facilities including a fully equipped cardio and weights room, vibro plate, 18m swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fives courts and running track. We also offer over 70 exercise classes a week including yoga, zumba, circuit training, spinning and much more.
Swimming is a great form of exercise and relaxation so why not try out our 18m swimming pool or just relax in the sauna or steam room? During the week, you could take advantage of our swimmers’ workout or aqua aerobics classes. We offer swimming lessons for people of all ages including one-to-one tutorials.We also offer children’s lessons on Saturday mornings along with a junior fun swim on Saturday mornings.
The Castlefield Y Club offers a fully equipped gym featuring life fitness and matrix cardiovascular equipment along with a wide range of resistance and free weights.
Cardio and Resistance Area:
The cardiovascular area features a wide range of equipment including bikes, rowers, treadmills, cross trainers, steppers and elliptical trainers. Alongside the cardiovascular machines we have an extensive range of resistance equipment.
The Y Club offers a range of kettle bells from 4kg – 28kg. Kettle bells offer total body conditioning. Whilst working on your cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training they also burn fat and improve tone, strength and endurance.
For a more intense work-out why not try our separate free weights room which has a full range of benches, barbells and dumbbells. Weights start from 1kg up to 50kg dumbbells. We also have weight discs, which range from 2.5kg – 25kg with three Olympic bars.
Vibration plate training has become more and more popular over the last year with many celebrities and sports professionals turning to this to enhance their workouts. When used as part of a healthy lifestyle and exercise routine the vibration plate can help to improve fitness, muscle tone and strength as well as improved balance and flexibility. It also helps weight loss and in the reduction of cellulite. It can also be used in the process of rehabilitation from injury.
Stretch and Abs Area:
This area is used for abdominal work and to improve your core and flexibility. It also means there is a designated area available for your pre and post workout stretches.
Indoor Running Track: (100m)
Other Gyms are just run of the mill compared to the Y Club.
Ours is the only Gym in Manchester City Centre where you can run, jog, sprint or race on a superb indoor running track, rather than being limited to treadmills.
Here at the Y Club you can choose from over 70 classes every week. Maybe you prefer classes such as Yoga or Pilates or maybe a more hi energy class such as Zumba®, Body Pump ®, Aerobics, Spin, Circuit Training or Combat. The Y Club also offers sporting activities such as Badminton, Volleyball, 5-a-Side Football and Basketball. Whatever your age, fitness level or circumstances we have sessions to suit you. You do not have to book for classes at the club.

Last entrance to the club is 45 minutes prior to closing time. The club begins to close the facilities down 30 minutes before closing. Bank holiday opning hours will vary.
